Look what we've been up to

I had a great time celebrating my 32nd bday with my family last week. My sister took this picture of Madison and I blowing out my candles together- it was cute. Archie sent me beautiful flowers to school which was a very sweet surprise. When I woke up that morning, Madison was standing next to my bed and wishing me a happpy birthday. She asked me if I was 52 years old, and when I said no, she asked if I was 62. It's crazy that you can age so quickly in just a minute.
Christian fell yesterday on my mom's patio. Take a look at the bruiser on his forehead. Poor little guy. He still has a smile on his face and is not letting anything get in his way.

Before Madison went to the doctor for her kindergarten phusical, she did her own hair. Well, I did the pony tail part and she did the clip part. She was SO excited that she did her hair all by herself. I really didn't want her to wear all of those clips and when I gently told her that maybe she should take out a few- she did not like that idea at all. Good thing I let her play outside before the doctor's appt. She ended up taking them out on her own since they were getting in the way when she was donig somersaults. Yes!
As for the doctor's appointment, Madison did not say a single word to him. Not even a peep with an Oreo McFlurry bribe! I know that she is shy, but we were even practicing "Good morning Dr. ______" 1 minute before he came in and she had it down perfectly. Since he has a humorous side, he told Madison that it was great talking to her. Of course, after he left, she was a little chatterbox. She did say thank you to the nurse for giving her some stickers and a lollipop after her shots were done. At least the words that did come out of her mouth were polite manners.
The shots were awful. Instead of looking at the wall as she was instructed to do, she insisted at looking at the shot that went into her. EEk! And of course there were not only tears but screams of pain. I do hope that her 5th grade shots are a lot better, or I may not be able to hold her down then! Since she had her optical appointment toaday (she has 20/25 vision)- she is 100% ready for kindergarten. All of the forms are filled out and waiting at her new school. I am very excited for her to start school and her "educational career." My baby is DEFINITELY growing up and I love watching it.
Lastly- here are Madison and her 4 cousins yesterday afternoon. We enjoyed some time playing outside and running down hills. They also loved climbing trees and taking pictures. Madison ALWAYS loves spending time with her cousins.

Oh good - I'm not the only one who has children with bruises! Looks like you've been extra busy as usual! Happy 32nd Birthday!

Hi Amy,
If it makes you feel any better, Jim had to pep both the kids up a few days before their kindergarten shots. I think they would have freaked if I took them. They knew Jim meant business. Fifth grade shots are MUCH better.

OMG Happy birthday! Looks like we'll have to go get coffee twice now. That's okay! Hope you had a great day. Wondering what optometrist you went to, still need to schedule that for Cole...very impressive that you have gotten that done already!
