Where did the time go?

Well, Texas is already here since we leave tomorrow and I don't know where the time has gone since I last blogged. So, I'll update you all quickly with some bullet points and pics from the last few weeks and be on my merry way.

  • We are all packed and very excited for our trip to Texas. Yipee! Can you believe that we are taking 3 children on a plane? I'll let you know how it goes! You all know that I have not minded the cold weather these past few months, but it did snow/sleet/rain today which wasn't all that fun. All I can say is warm weather-here we come!

  • The boys are walking-running EVERYWHERE! We are having so much fun with them and they LOVE to chase their big sister around the house.

  • Both boys love to say "Uh, oh" and drop toys out of their cribs and food off of their trays. Caleb said "Bye, Bye" to me as I was leaving for work today. At least it sounded something like that.

  • Madison thinks that it would be a good idea for her to come to work with me so she can make a little money. She thought that we could split my paycheck and have fun teaching together- What an amazing mind she has!

  • We finally had our 1 year appt and found out: Caleb weighs 21 lb 9 oz and is in the 50th percentile for weight, Christian wieghs 20 lb nad 14 oz and is in the 25th percentile for weight. Both boys are pretty much 29 inches tall and is in the 25th percentile for height.

  • Our Easter was fun! We celebrated with Marsha, my dad, and my nephew Chris by coloring Easter eggs together on Good Friday. Then on Saturday, they took ALL 3 kids over to Marsha's family which was wonderful. Archie ended up flying that day and I went into the city to see my friend's wedding dress.

  • We actually celebrated Easter Day by getting up at 6:30 a.m. (FUN) and attending the 8:00 service with my mom and 2 sisters and then going to my mom's for brunch. We then celebrated with Archie's family with more food in the afternoon. All the kids were great . . . which made it great for us to enjoy some time with family.
It will be at least a week until I update all of you again. So, enjoy your week and think about us when we are on the plance with all 3 kids!

Last Night

Last night I layed awake thinking about "life" since I had a difficult time sleeping- this is unlikely for me. Then I stopped and prayed. I don't know how long I prayed for, but I know that it has been a while since I prayed like that. It felt so good and heartfelt to pray for my family and friends.
A few weeks ago when I was at church, somebody talked about how we need to borrow each others' faith when we are struggling, and we need to share our faith with others when we are not struggling. I liked that. We all struggle in life at some time, and we need others to carry us and help us along the way. So, I thought that I could start praying more consistently for others. I don't know who exactly out there really reads my blog- but I decided that if you wanted me to- I would pray for you. Just email me at amy_coleman@ipsd.org and let me know. It can be vague or very specific.

Today when I was catching up on all of my old emails, I found this from a Rick Warren interview that my friend Kristen sent me . . . it was a good reminder for me.

In . . .
Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

The Countdown begins!

Since the boys' birthday is over, now we can focus on how many more days until SPRING BREAK or more importantly. . . how many more days until TEXAS! We will be going to visit our dear friends Scott and Phoebe and their little guy Jake in Texas in 13 days! Yipee! We have been SO excited about this trip and have been planning it for months. Yes- we are taking the whole clan, so hopefully all will go well. I'm not concerned about it, just looking forward to it. In the next 11 days I will have to do many things to get us all ready; make a packing list, go through our summer clothes, go shopping for some new summer clothes, get a pedicure, etc. but the warm weather is calling our names and I have NEVER gone away for Spring Break so I am SO ready for this little trip.

By the way- we have started work on our basement! Another Yipee! We are all so very excited to have more room for all of the kids' toys and a walled in room for Archie's office. I'll send some pics later when I actually take them. So far- so good!

Happy Birthday Christian and Caleb!

On Sunday, March 2nd, Christian Thomas and Caleb Gerard turned ONE! They are definitley not babies anymore. Just look at them. When Archie and I look at them we see little boys, cute little boys. I would have loved to get a picture of them sitting together and looking at the camera, but since they are so busy and always on the go, it was impossible. Christian on the left and Caleb on the right playing with balloons before their party started.

My friend, who is an amazing cake decorator, made the boys' smash cakes. She truly is talented and the cake was delicious too!

Caleb dug into the cake and got a wee little messy.

Christian loved the cake and took his time investigating it. He slowly deposited little pieces of the cake into his mouth making sure not to get any of it on his hair or clothing. Can you tell how different these boys are?!

Grandma and Grandpa Coleman bought a firetruck and airplane for the boys to ride. They BOTH love to push them around the house and ride them.

Here is Christain smiling at the giraffe that is on his new chair. The boys look so adorable sitting on these chairs, but as of now, they won't stay seated in them. It's more of a challenge to get in and out of them.

We had a memorable day celebrating our boys' birthday on Saturday and our very talented friend, Matt, helped make it even more memorable. He made a wonderful video of the boys' 1st year that we were able to share with everyone. I tried to put the video on my blog, but was unable to. Take my word, it was very sweet. It's crazy to see how much Christian and Caleb have changed and what they used to look like! On Sunday, their actual birthday, it was fun to spend the day together alone as the Coleman 5. We ended up going shopping and just spending time together. It was truly a wonderful day.
Here are the boys in their car seats on the way to the mall - facing forward for the 1st time. They LOVE facing forward.

A few days before the boys turned one, I reminisced about the days before they were born. I thought about what life was like when it was only Archie, Madison, and I. And I thought that life was busy then. I thought about the day we found out that we were having twins . . . and that they were both boys. Oh the questions and thoughts that ran through my mind. I thought about my experience in the hospital and how I am SO happy and grateful that God was with me and the doctors in the emergency room and that He allowed me to live so I could see my babies grow and experience their first year of life. I hope and pray that I will have many more years to be a Mommy to my 3 children.
