Last night I layed awake thinking about "life" since I had a difficult time sleeping- this is unlikely for me. Then I stopped and prayed. I don't know how long I prayed for, but I know that it has been a while since I prayed like that. It felt so good and heartfelt to pray for my family and friends.
A few weeks ago when I was at church, somebody talked about how we need to borrow each others' faith when we are struggling, and we need to share our faith with others when we are not struggling. I liked that. We all struggle in life at some time, and we need others to carry us and help us along the way. So, I thought that I could start praying more consistently for others. I don't know who exactly out there really reads my blog- but I decided that if you wanted me to- I would pray for you. Just email me at amy_coleman@ipsd.org and let me know. It can be vague or very specific.
Today when I was catching up on all of my old emails, I found this from a Rick Warren interview that my friend Kristen sent me . . . it was a good reminder for me.
In . . .
Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

Hi Amy,
That is really encouraging. It is true. We all go through hard times and need God(most importantly) and each other's support to get through them. I have discovered how free you feel when you put things in God's hands. Then the weight is off of ourselves.
